About the Oaks

St Paul’s Church purchased the original Stocks Lane School site in 1999, for a cost of £200,000. (Half of the site was subsequently acquired by the Leonard Cheshire Foundation for the construction of a residence for the disabled.) The refurbishment of the building has cost a further £350,000, and virtually all who have been inside the Oaks Centre since it opened have been greatly impressed by its appearance and potential.

Opened in November 2000 as a centre dedicated to promoting a sense of true community in the locality by offering a place of welcome and activities to meet the needs of local groups and individuals.

The Oaks is Fairtrade recognised and The Oaks Cafe has been awarded a 5 Star Status by Warrington BC inspectors.
