Street Pastors in Warrington

Following preliminary discussion between church leaders of a wide variety of traditions (Anglican, Baptist, Independent Methodist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Roman Catholic, Salvation Army, United Reformed), it was decided to pursue the formal establishment of a Street Pastor scheme in Warrington - in the town centre in the first instance.

With the approval of representatives of various agencies (inc Councillors, Town Centre Manager, Police & Trading Standards), the project has now reached the stage where the formal license with the national scheme organisers (The Ascension Trust) has been signed.

Next tasks include recruiting those interested in serving as a Street Pastor, planning the training, and widening the Management Committee.

If any in the Christian faith community (with the support of their leadership) - or indeed the leaders themselves, are willing to be nominated to serve on the Management Committee for the scheme (and we will need a Treasurer), such nominations would be very welcome.

Also, people who would like to be a Street Pastor, please see Paul Hockley in the first instance.
