In challenging people to be inconvenienced for 15 minutes a day in order to serve God (today's prayer slot) I didn't expect to be challenged so quickly!
30 minutes later I was challenged three times (yes three!) to see why the wheel-chair bound Philip and Ian were still in the church porch with only one carer. Evidently they were trying to get to the "Sportsman's" and The Red Lion" for lunch, but the required help had not materialized. The first challenge I ignored as I was busy doing the curtains, boiler setting and other "wardenly" things, the second time I was easily put off helping by them insisting that help was on its way. The third time I grabbed Ian and started the push down Warrington Road, giving instructions to my wife to pick me up on route home...thinking to myself "I'll be walking home today to a late lunch!" I swapped Ian for Philip outside the chippy and pushed him to "The Red Lion", successfully negotiating the pelican crossing, the Co-op car park and the Wacky warehouse queue. I left Philip with his carer, came out of the side door and almost crashed into my wifes car as it could not have got any nearer! God's timing was perfect!
So what you may ask? Well.... who knows what the outcome will be, but at least 20 or 30 saw what was going on from start to finish and if the connection is made to the work of Christ's people then this is a good thing! A small piece in God's plan to rescue the lost
